How much carbon is in electricity?

Utilities burn coal and oil to generate electricity, putting a lot of CO2 and other waste into the air, burning gas is better, but still emits CO2. Electricity from solar, wind or rivers does not put CO2 in the air. Each kWh from Gas means about 3/4 pound of CO2. Each kWh from oil is about 1 pound of CO2. Each kWh from coal is about 2 pounds of CO2.
